Two Headed Chick
Two Headed Chick
This specimen has been processed with the skin on in order to keep its delicate structure intact. It’s difficult to tell through the photos, but the stained spine can be seen through frontal inner cavity and when illuminated.
It is difficult to fully highlight all of the weird and wonderful qualities that this deformed chicken has. From the front, this chicken has an extremely rare congenital disorder called “Disprosopus”, a condition that creates two faces on one head (also known as craniofacial duplication).
From the back, you can notice that there are two spines, thus signifying the presence of two individual heads in development. The frequency of polycephaly (two headed) in chicken is unknown due to how rare this deformity occurs.
This rare specimen is available worldwide.
